My love affair with reading and language began in a home overflowing with books, where each page turned ignited my imagination and curiosity. This passion led me to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in English and American Literature and Italian Language and Culture from the University of Kent at Canterbury. A few years later, I earned a Post Graduate Certificate of Education in Secondary English with Drama from the University of Cambridge. Since then, my life has been a wonderful blend of teaching, learning, and sharing the joys of the English language.
A Teacher and Lifelong Learner
Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching English in various schools across Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, and Bristol, along with providing private tutoring to students. My journey didn’t stop there—I’m also a lifelong learner. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the Open University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Forensic Psychology from the University of Gloucestershire. This diverse academic background fuels my teaching philosophy: it’s never too late to learn!
Bridging the Gap with Free English Language and Literature Tutorials
In 2020, I launched my YouTube channel, Claire's Notes, to offer free tutorials on all aspects of the English curriculum, from GCSE upwards. Having witnessed the transformative power of focused after-school tuition, I wanted to extend these benefits to as many learners as possible. My goal is to make quality education accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation.
